Beatons Bod: Cake-making Tashana

Tashana - Manageress at Tisbury
It's a pleasure to be back in the 'Beatons Bod' editor's chair again!Tashana is our recently promoted Manageress at Tisbury, and is thrilled to be getting to know local Tisburians...

Liz Darcy Jones

Who are you and - if you're part of the team - what do you like best about your job? I'm Tashana French, Manageress of Beatons Tisbury. The thing I like most about my role is getting to know all of the regular local people we have. They make Beatons and without then it would not to be the same. The relationship we enjoy creates a warm friendly atmosphere and we have many a laugh.

What's your favourite edible or drinkable from our menu?
It would have to be Spicy Tuna Melt on wholemeal as it always adds a bit of fire in my belly on a chilly winter's day. To go with it I'll have an elderflower soda.

And how about your favourite book from our shelves?
My favourite book from our shelves would be trEATs: Delicious food gifts to make at home by April Carter, it’s a very creative book for gift ideas, all involving food.

Which of the ways we like to go about things at Beatons means most to you and why?
For me it would have to be a mixture of attentiveness and sparkle, I think it's something I pride myself in as I like customers to come in for more than just refreshment but for a chat, and to feel looked after. I find remembering their order helps do that. They loving having their regular order ready for them without even having to ask.

Can you share a  practical tip for our online audience? It can be about anything i.e. cooking, sewing, cleaning or motorbike maintenance!
A cleaning tip from me would be using white vinegar and bicarbonate - it makes an amazing carpet stain remover.

Do you have any pets and if so tell us about them?
I have a long haired chihuahua called Lula. She's 7 years old and an absolute doll. I'd be lost without her, she's such a character and thinks she's human! [Check out Tashana's own tweets @TashanaFrenc to see some cute pics! Ed.]

Over the next year what's the most exciting project in your life - at work or personally?
Over the next year I will be  making a wedding cake for a very close friend of mine and I'm delighted to be doing so - lots of practising required! And I'm also very excited about Beatons' expansion plans for Chester and Hampshire!
